Proud moments in the life of Yosh Train Hansen

For any of you not privy on the fact that Yosh is a dedicated, through and through BYU fan, the following moments won't have quite a profound meaning. To those of you who do know Yosh, you will understand the pride that comes with our boys' actions.

Dallin B. no longer accepts the singing of the BYU fight song unless it is sung in its entirety.
Porter, at his young 9 1/2 months, claps, without any prodding, when he hears the singing of the BYU fight song. Dallin requests quite regularly to watch the BYU highlight DVD. Porter also watches attentively. The majority of Dallin's falls are followed with him throwing his hands in the air and declaring in a loud, baritone's voice "Touchdown!"

These are all moments that probably make Yosh want to cry with pride. (Don't worry... he resists the tears!) We are excited for the upcoming season. In fact, when Josh got on his kick saying we all needed BYU gear, I reminded him that we all had brand new shirts and that we would fair just fine. He then asks what I am wearing to the game. I reply in a somewhat irritated voice that I'm wearing the t-shirt he got me. Now, I was surprised when my fashion-savvy husband (that's a joke!), demands that I show him the shirt for his approval. I was in disbelief! Sure enough, as I pull out my classic BYU t-shirt that he had won on Ebay, he nods in approval, declaring, "That will definitely work." I'll tell you what, the BYU fans I live with are hard core. I can only imagine what it will be like when the boys are old enough to throw in their two cents...

  2. Gay, I think that is so funny. I just barely bought my first BYU sweatshirt on clearance last month. And how long have we been going to BYU? Are you coming to a bunch of games? Or is Josh coming to alot of games would maybe be the question. You are such a tropper.

  3. It is good to hear that your family is living right. I cannot wait for the day that I can take lil' Hughie to see the mighty Cougars play. Yosh, you should be proud. PS - I made Becca buy a BYU shirt also.

  4. It's Laura's sister here. I couldn't help but comment. My 5 1/2 year old has learned to count by 7s and 3s. Both he and 3 year old sister know all the words to the fight song. All have multiple BYU shirts and Seth last year was obsessed with Curtis Brown and John Beck. It'll only get worse as your boys get older. My kids even made me put the fight song as my ring tone and sing every time someone calls. Sorry to bug on your blog.
